Image Backgrounds in PPT 2007

Sorry Picture Not Found

Back in the days of PowerPoint 2003, if we had a clipart picture with a white background, we had to use Photoshop or Fireworks and "magic wand" remove the white. We could then save our image in .PNG format, which would preserve the transparency. It was then a matter of importing the image into our PPT using "Insert" and "Picture from File".

Here is a PDF document on How to Remove Backgrounds using CS3 Fireworks.

However in PPT 2007, we can remove the white background from within PowerPoint. All we have to do is Format the image, open the"Recolor" tools, and choose the “Set Transparent Color” tool.

The following PDF document gives detailed step by step instructions on how to remove backgrounds from images, using PowerPoint 2007.

There are some other really nice new features in PowerPoint 2007, but more about them another time.

Enjoy,
